131.4 High School Credit for Middle School Students

Students enrolled in middle school subjects that employ the high school curriculum and demonstrate mastery of the academic competencies shall be awarded high school academic credit in accordance with the high school competency-based credit guidelines. Courses that lead to high school credit must be using the high school curriculum and supporting texts, materials and assessments. Credit will be awarded based on the demonstrated mastery of the competencies in each course as defined by the corresponding rubrics. A student’s achievement grade earned in the high school course(s) in middle school will not be included in any high school grade point average calculations, weighted or otherwise.
