116 Summer School Program

The Manchester School District runs an academic summer program.

Summer school is available to all students in grades 6 through 12.  Various courses are offered for the purposes of make-up (restoring credits that were not earned due to a failing grade during the regular school year), review or enrichment.  Detailed information about summer enrollment and course selection can be obtained by contacting the summer school director.

Students who select summer school courses for the purpose of make-up may attend summer school if they have been absent fewer than twenty-four (24) days during the most recent academic year.  A student who has been absent for twenty-four (24) or more days during the most recent academic year may attend summer school for the purpose of make-up at the discretion of his or her principal.

Students who enroll in summer school course for make-up cannot earn more credits in a summer school course than the number that are issued during the academic year.

Summer school courses taken for review shall be listed on school transcripts.  Credit will be granted only for those courses taken for make-up or enrichment.  Summer course grades shall not be factored into the GPA of the student.

A fee is charged to attend summer school.
